The Government
The Government is a term used by faction leaders, their enforcers and the people held in slavery alike to describe a non-existent organisation that the slaves must obey or suffer at the hands of the enforcers of the faction leaders.
Being non-existent, the faction leaders and the higher ranking enforcers can append any meaning they like to the term and the slaves are for the most part banned from even thinking about how it all works, only that they need to obey the enforcers or faith punishment and that this has something to do with the illusion called "the government".
In the 21st Century, almost all of the factions have the slaves believe "The Government" is democratic and this entails to the slaves that the slaves have the ultimate say on what rules will be created providing them with the mistaken belief that the enforcers work for the slaves when they are beating up the slaves for not obeying the rules which are truly created by the faction leaders who are able to enslave people more effectively by convincing the slaves that its the slaves who are beating up themselves for not obeying themselves and if they dont like the rules then they should set about voting out "The Government", an impossible task, since "The Government" doesn't really exist, only the faction leaders and their enforcers.
When interacting with the earth's present day people you will find it difficult to communicate that their situation is one of servitude and the remotest idea that they are in fact slaves can set them off into the maze of contradictions which they have been programmed with since an early age. The people of the present day can become unpredictable and might lash out against the superior firepower of the faction leaders and their enforcers, or through hurt pride that they are not the free human beings their faction leaders told them they were, could lash out against anyone who suggests to them that they are not quite as free as they have been led to believe.
Exiles from the 28th Century are advised to avoid discussion about the enslavement of the people of the present day, or to at least keep such conversation within the confines of the transatlantic slave trade or the Plebian class of Rome or whatever historic incidences of slavery existed which are historic to the people of the present day. You may find yourself drawn into conversations about the enslavement of people in the territories of rival faction leaders in places far from where you have arrived through a time portal to. These conversations always lead to the same outcomes of the slaves of one faction supporting the annhialation of the slaves of rival faction leaders so such conversations should be avoided.
