War

It would seem that war is no longer a thing of the past in the future. We were more surprised by the outbreak of war in 2782 as the people of the 23rd Century were when they realised all the wars of the 22nd Century were nothing but theatrical plays to sift out the people who would lend their support for such barbarism from those who would stand against.

An actual war almost broke out because the people who supported rampant death and destruction to their fellow earthlings were more than a little upset that the more peaceful human beings on the planet had deceived them into proudly expressing support for wars that weren't even happening. They eventually calmed down and conceded to the idea that it was better to have fake wars than real ones and assisted in the efforts to end all injustices using similar practices to deceive the world in ways which made the world the utopian dream we were living in, until recently.

In the 21st Century, war is a very real thing where the factions murder one another slaves in the hope to achieve domination and control over every aspect of the lives of the slaves in the territories they wish to conquer. It is destructive and bloody, wreaking havoc on the lives and minds of those who are lucky to surive the barbarism promoted by the faction leaders and overwhelmingly supported by their enforcers. Most of the slaves are too afraid to even think about opposing their own death and destruction, healing their minds from the sheer terror by pretending its only happening to other people and its not their problem.

There are those who realise that the wars of the faction leaders and their army of enforcers are infact self-destructive acts the humans commit against one another through a lack of courage, but are too afraid to denounce their faction leaders for mass murder incase their army of enforcers make their life a misery.

It's one thing to have read a history book about the barbaric practices of the faction leaders and their legions of enforcers in the 21st Century but an entirely different thing to actually be living in the 21st Century with not much prospect for return to the 28th Century yet. We have to cope with the fact that the earth in the 21st Century is an open world lunatic asylum run by crazy people supported by the most violent thugs imaginable who are in turn supported by confused people who think the army of enforcers are the peaceful and the people who lend support to peaceful co-existence are in some strange way the terrorists who threaten civil order by suggesting people just disobey the faction leaders when they encourage all the other human beings on the planet to lie, cheat, steal and kill one another.

21st Century Primitives

Bear in mind that it is we, the people from the 28th Century who are the freaks here because in this century, the armies of enforcers will incarcerate you for something as simple as owning a domestic compact fusion reactor. To their barbaric mindset, even a spoon can be a weapon and imparting opinions they dont like can be seen by them as acts of war.

Most of the people of the present are not only terrified of the legions of enforcers, they are too terrified to even admit to themself they live in a state of constant terror about how an enforcer who sees them might act. For a person of the present day to see an enforcer while traversing asphalt lines in their wheeled vessels is an event of such terror that they are habituated to press the brake control of their wheeled vessel and check that the speed of their vessel is not faster than an arbitrary number over which enforcers will be triggered to act aggressively about.

They live in this constant state of fear which is not as irrational as you or I might think, when you realise the enforcers can ruin their lives because they broke arbitrary rules created by the faction leaders pretending it is a thing called "The Government" who made the rules that the slaves can somehow vote out. You cant just go about relating the morals and values of the 28th Century in any casual manner while in this century because firstly, the people of the present day are in a blind panic, some of the people blindly support the enforcers who they believe are only injuring them to save them from injuring themselves. There are also those who gamble that being on the side of the enforcers will make their own lives better even if it makes everyone elses lives worse. There are undercover enforcers who might take issue with your suggestion that the faction leaders back down and their army of enforcers just quit their jobs. There are also the faction leaders themself who are hard to identify since they use a facade they call democracy to pretend it is the slaves who are enslaving themself.

All in all it does not do to just casually talk about the morals and values of the 28th Century casually where the people of the present day earth might overhear you. You have no idea what they will do with that information, whether they will be so afraid of peaceful co-existence that they will report you to the enforcers or if the suggestion makes them so angry that they just stab you in the eye with a fork. This would not be good as healthcare in the 21st Century can include Suicide Clinics and other forms of death which the people of the present day earth are taught to consider to be cures.
